Friday Photo: Look Who Showed Up In Quincy Park!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

This is the first time we have seen a tortoise in Quincy Park.  Ron and I wondered if this lovely creature made its way from the native plants park that is part of the Carpinteria 213 acre Salt Marsh Reserve and Nature Park.  With all the noisy clearing of the creeks that flow into the salt marshes, and the mud dust in the air,  this tortoise decided to find a new home!

Quincy said some welcoming words, and then moved hoping to see some gopher activity.  By the time we finished our walk our new friend had moved on.

Happy Friday,

Cheers!

I always enjoy when a normally elisive creature  finds it's way in the open for us to see.

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - How cool! I would also wonder if the recent rains pushed it out of it's normal habitat.

This is such a sweet, sweet picture, Alexandra. And so "cat-like" in how Quincy is checking out that turtle.

Maybe he's a mud surfing Tortoise and road the dirt wave to a new neighborhood - closer to the ocean with those clean breezes wafting in.  Love Quincy. He sure lives up to the curious cat definition.

We see the occasional turtle, but no tortoises. Miss seeing hedgehogs which we used to see aplenty of in our London suburban home.

Nina Hollander he is one of our most unusual Abbys.  He caught a gopher and promptly let it go.  He has a favorite one that comes out of its den and munches grass and they sit and watch each other.  And then the gopher heads back for its den.  He love dogs especially big ones, Great Danes included.  He even enjoys watching the duck in the creek by our home...A

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® there has been talk of creatures coming off the mountains.  We have not seen any here, our sense is that i wondered from the natural habit area, which has had the convoy of trucks hauling mud and debris from all the creeks that feed the salt marshes.  A

I'm betting the little tortuga was once someone's pet, that couldn't be kept.  He's kind of cute, and says his name is, Sheldon.

Hi Ron and Alexandra- We've seen them on the banks by the pond in our neighborhood and on occasion a wayward one on the street. Think of the many animals that have been displaced by the fires and mudslides.

Hopefully that wasn't a snapping turtle and Quincy would have to have a nose transplant.

Quincy is certainly the curious cat! I love that he did his 'investigating' and moved on, in search of his gopher. Love the photo, Alexandra!
