If Your Clients Are On Zillow, They're Not On Your Website

Why is it important to have a ROBUST profile on Zillow.com. Trulia.com, or Activerain.com?

Greg Swann tells us why it's important to have a presence on all the social media in the real estate space.  Get on those networks and build a robust profile so that you won't be caught by surprise.

Very true.  They are all good ways to get people to migrate to your website.  Don't forget Craigslist.  I've had lots of success with people getting on my website from there.

Brian- I have recently put my profiles on Zillow & Trulia. I am amazed how many consumers are on those sites.

I've been on trulia for some time. I haven't had any leads come from there. Only AR has resulted in leads.

I disagree.

I believe that if folks are on Zillow, they are being exposed to a database of false information.  Not the image I want.

IMO, Zillow has promulgated systematic misinformation.  They are using databases that purport to determine market value of real estate which the use of is often not related to market value.  If the formula for the algorithm is flawed, how accurate can the estimates be?

Brian: Thank you for letting us take a peek inside of Unchained. I begged Brad Andersohn to go and report back to the Rainers.....but I guess he didn't? I will be there next year, for sure, had an important graduation with the family that conflicted this year. You and Greg are amazing...love this stuff. Aspire to get there.

While I dislike Zillow's zestimate, I always think about something a client told Missy Caulk when she asked how they found her, "You are everywhere."

I completely agree with this. Many consumers start their search for real estate info on the larger national sites simply because they don't know a local agent. By positioning ourselves on those sites, we can be there to show the consumer where to find quality hyperlocal content -- right on our own domains.
