WHAT?
You missed the boat?
Don’t worry!
Another one will be along shortly, but you’re going to have to be aware and ready, so you can confidently hop aboard.
It’s that lack of confidence thing that gives many people their justification for missing boat after boat after boat . . .
“It’s out of my league!”
“I wasn’t born with enough talent . . . I’m not skilled enough.”
“I never was much of a reader and not a great student, so I don’t have the knowledge required for THAT!”
“I’m too introverted to be successful doing that, but I really want to do it.”
Seth Godin doesn’t agree.
He’s not letting you off the hook.
In his blog Post today: Born to Paint, he clearly places the onus on YOU to be the genius you are:
“It’s not too late for you to be a genius. It comes at a price, but it’s not based on your DNA.”
So . . . It’s up to you to step into and through whatever lame justifications you can conjure up in your mind.
Abandon those fictitious/imaginary boundaries, get off your ass, and pay the price.
Read, Learn, Practice, Motivate yourself knowing that you’re no different than those 1%ers – the people who have achieved mastery doing this thing that you want to do.
They started with no advantage over where and who you are now.
Odds are good that they “invested” more than 10 years and 10,000 hours of practice to get themselves where they are.
It’s totally fair that you can’t cut corners and magically soar to the top.
OK!
You’ve got your marching orders now.
Go!
Do!
pssst . . . I wrote this post to myself, so don’t take it personally (unless the shoe fits)
