What does a 14th century poet have to do with Valentine's Day might wonder.  The answer is that the renowned British poet Geoffrey Chaucer and author of the Canterbury Tales began a poem in 1382 which he completed on February 14th 1383.  The poem called the Parliament of Fowls , explored cosmic order, political order and erotic desire.  At the end of debate Nature encouraged each of the birds to choose its own mate.  We follow Nature's process to this day.
