Can I have my dad or uncle do my inspection?

I know that sometimes this may work, but William Feela has made some great points.

While dad and uncle may be good, are they looking at some issues like they really should.

I have heard parents say, "Oh that isn't a big deal".

So, take a quick read and take it to heart.

With the proper notification they certainly can.

But why?

Do they know Electrical, Plumbing, Hvac.

How about water issues, and roofing or siding.

Cracks in the foundation.

Will they check the outlets to see that they are working. Can they tell if the circuit box

is wired right?

I believe that dad or your uncle may know some of the issues.

But why take the  chance with the rest of it?

You only get one chance to get it all right!

Not all foundation issues are as blatant as this one!

I've had some clients do this against my recommendation.  Typically this just raises lots of needless issues.

Good re-post missed this, really all depends on if Dad or the Uncle are inspectors or a qualified contractor who knows what they are looking at.
