Band-Aids and Monster Spray!

By
Home Inspector with Charles Buell Inspections Inc.

When the kids were little sometimes we had to deal with the "monsters under the bed."  It always seemed to work to have a good supply of "Monster Spray" on hand to save the day (night).  I never gave it much thought about what to do if it didn't work----one of the good things about Monster Spray I guess.

Similarly, when the kids would fall and hurt themselves, even if there wasn't any blood, a Band-Aid could make everything better----I think that is why they started making all those really cool ones with Mickey Mouse and Sponge Bob on them.

So when you have a light switch in your home that is "hurting" perhaps a band-aid is all that it needs.

No a bandaid is a bad idea unless you want a unexpected barbecue. The monster spay should work best applied 1 hour before bedtime.

Charlie,

Seems like applying those is a good home inspector recommendation for a "hurting" electrical system. You try it first, let me know how the market responds.

Charles, your Monster Spray reminds me of a technique my broker used to use for jittery first time buyers.  He would explain the phenomenon of buyers remorse, and tell the buyers that it was not uncommon, but would pass.

He then put several M&Ms in a vial labeled "Buyers Remorse Pills".  He advised the buyers, with a smile,  to take one at the first sign of remorse and call him in the morning if there were still any symptoms!

It always dispelled the tension.

Hope, glad you like the little messages---thanks for stopping by.

Chip, good to keep handy all through the night!

Steve, perhaps a new "ancilliary service?"

Brian, that is too cool----life almost doesn't exist without a sense of humor!
