Hi, All

I opened my ActiveRain account this morning to find spam about a service to help me with blogging.  I imagine most -if not all of you - received the same message.

I have done over 300 hours of research on internet marketing.  I have tried blogs to see how it impacts getting on the first page of Google and the other search engines.

Blogs used to work great.  But Google and most of the other search engines changed their algorythms (search engines strategies) drastically last year.  Blogging is no longer helpful for notaries.

Lots of people think posting lots of blogs here on AR will help get them on page one of an internet search.  No longer.  Blogging here mostly helps you network with other NSAs to advance your professional knowledge.

What DOES help you get on page one of Google:

*Posting terrific announcements about your services here, on CraigsList, on Kijiji, and a few other free places to list your services.

*Having a website and submitting its info to Dmoz.com and Yahoo yellow pages.

*Putting keywords (the words people use when searching for a notary) on your website and in all your announcements.

If all you want is loan work from your internet marketing, you need to be where the TCs look: the notary directories.  I think 123notary is the most used one.  I don't like 123, but if it is the most effective way to get loan work via the internet I'm not going say otherwise.  GoMobileNotary is probably second best.  I like GMN lots - the owner is a good guy.

Some LOs (especially RevMort ones) look for notaries on the internet and don't know about the notary directories.  So if you want RevMort work, be on 123 and GMN AND do the above things I mention.

Hope this helps,

LauraV

As always, great post and information.  I also hate Jeremy, and hope eventually there is a better site.  He is awful at running a business, but beats the competition hands down on marketing his website.
