I have heard stories of inspectors that have gotten themselves into hot-water because they turned the oven or dishwasher on, only to find out too late that the appliance was being used as a pantry or a bread box. While this has never happened to me---I can see how it could. I personally don't have a dishwasher because I can't really imagine giving up the three really nice drawers that occupy the space where the dishwasher is supposed to go. Besides that, it always seemed like there was a kid or two around that needed a job.
When I was a general contractor, I found that doing the dishes was one of the few really relaxing (almost mindless) things I could find to do after a long hard day of "pounding nails" or corralling sub-contractors----sort of like the "Zen-of-Doing-Dishes."
Sometimes the ways to un-wind in our lives can be built right into the process of life itself if we don't work too hard at buying into the Media's ideas of relaxation. Does it really make any sense that one's sanity is dependent on whether we can afford the next Yoga class or Gym membership?
On a recent inspection I was reminded of why I always check inside the dishwasher before I turn it on. I was so happy to see that someone else had also discovered----The Meaning of Life.

PS, for those of you that are new to my blog (or for some other "unexplained" reason have never noticed) all pictures and smiley-face inserts (emoticons) (when I use them) have messages that show up when you point at them with your cursor.
