From Patricia Kennedy, Apprentice of the M2T Team "Synergettes."
This afternoon, my mentor met my database. It was not pretty.
I proudly described how I used the Address Book and I-Cal programs on my Mac to more or less keep track of "My People".
OK, she wondered, how are they categorized? Well, um....
And are you really keeping track of what's going on in each transaction with Address Book? Well, um....
And just how do you use this so-called database, she wanted to know? Oh, so you can send out invitations to your annual Christmas party? Well, um...
All right already! I need a makeover! I admit it! I'm a little scattered with too much data stored in a brain that had a few cells destroyed by all the pot I smoked in the 60's. (OK, the statute of limitations is long passed, and I'm not running for President!)
So, tail between my legs, I hopped into my Lexus and headed for the Apple Store at Montgomery Mall.
There I met young George Tozer, and I told him I need a good contact management program. What would he suggest? He gave me a sort of funny look, and then noticed I had my MacBook Air in my shoulder bag. So I took it out, turned it on, and voila! He explained that I already had a superb contact management program on the dock!

What??????
Entourage!
He could have sold me something. But he was way too good a professional. Instead, he helped me sync all three of my computers and then transferred all of my contacts and calendar data into Entourage.
Moving my contacts and calendar into Entourage does not a data base make. I still have to figure out how to categorize everyone and set up a "Project" file for each transaction. I may even have to call George and see if he can set me up with a crash course - they do that at the Apple Store.
Sure, I know that a good database and contact management system is the spine of any real estate transaction. I just need to put a little steel rod into mine.
And if you ever want to buy a Mac, call George for an appointment at 301-299-0723. It's worth a trip to Bethesda, Maryland to do business with him.
And with all of the money that George saved me, I was able to buy a cute new outfit for my Mac Book Air!
