10th Annual Brasil Jazz Festa
Sunday March 4th in San Diego
I can’t wait to attend the 10th Annual Brasil Jazz Festa taking place at Dizzy’s in San Diego, tomorrow, March 4, beginning at 6 pm.
We went to the first 4 or 5 of these festivals when they were held in Encinitas, but have only been to one of them downtown and it’s been a few years.
The music was always wonderful, and with a relatively small audience in an intimate venue, it’s a special treat, in particular if you are a Brazlian music.
We have gotten to know some of the musicians/singers who are regulars and it’s been fun to see them at other performances around the city over the years as they have grown in popularity.
We have been following the Danny Green Trio now for 10 years, and have been to multiple concerts including a couple of CD release events.
Allison Adams Tucker is a well-known and popular vocalist we also have gotten to know since that first Brasil Festa in 2008, and have enjoyed in multiple performances, including several of her CD release concerts.

This 10th Brasil Jazz Festa will also feature well-known Brazilian musician/singer/composer Chico Pinheiro who hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil, but is now in New York. We saw him in a solo performance at the Museum of Making Music (check out the video) several years ago and he was amazing.
Another talented artist who is headlining that we have enjoyed before is mandolinist Eva Scow!
With ticket prices at only $20 before the performance ($25 at the door) it’s well worth the drive to the venue to see some very talented musicians and vocalists and wonderful Brazilian music. You can buy tickets here.
