Bellingham Technical College: May 2018 Home Inspector Class

By
Home Inspector with King of the House Home Inspection, Inc. Home Inspector Lic #207

Bellingham Technical College's next home inspector training course (it begins May 7, 2018 and runs through June 1, 2018) reached full enrollment immediately after registration opened late last week. And, at this point, we have a waiting list.

The popularity of the course has become a trend over the past year. A contributing factor is our enrollment cap at 12 students -- so we can better provide individual attention. Prospective home inspectors, who wish to enroll in the BTC course anytime soon, should seek placement on the current waiting list. Doing so provides a priority position, a better chance for an available slot in the upcoming July course.

The BTC home inspection training program has other good news. In the recently completed February class, Dylan Chalk of Orca Inspections on Bainbridge Island joined our BTC team of professional instructors. We now have a total of six instructors, each one of us teaches specific course content.

Dylan Chalk

Dylan has impressive credentials. He is a WA state licensed home inspector -- inspecting houses for 15 years. Also, he's a licensed structural pest inspector, a member of the state pest management association, a state certified real estate instructor, an energy star verifier, a certified tune-up energy audit inspector, and an ASHI member. In fact, inspectors in the Pacific Northwest will recognize Dylan as a regular presenter at the ASHI continuing education seminars. He is versatile and accomplished, having recently authored a guide for prospective home buyers that has received excellent reviews. His book is available at retail book stores and at Amazon.

We are all very pleased that Dylan accepted our offer to share his knowledge and experience with our students at Bellingham Technical College.

The informational video below describes the details of our 135 clock-hour course and our standard curriculum. Per state law updates, along with the traditional subjects we have always covered such as structure, electrical and plumbing, heating, etc. we now offer additional information on swimming pools/spas, yard irrigation systems, and alternative methods of construction.

This fast-track training program takes students from start to finish (both Fundamentals of Home Inspection and Field Training classes) in four very busy weeks. Classes meet M-F from 8AM to 5PM.
