My dentist has a comfort animal and does not even know it.
In Dr. Murphy's office there is a beautiful chocolate lab puppy, just a few months old, that gets lots of attention from the staff and the patients.
You don't have to ask twice to have Tucker brought out from his crate and enjoy the affection and pleasure this beautiful animal brings to everyone.
While in the chair and chatting with one of the staff, I was told about a very anxious, nervous patient...not at all comfortable being in the dentist's office.
Upon request Tucker was brought out and instinctively knew what was needed.
He stayed calm and quiet with the patient during the waiting period and the entire procedure.
Anyone who knows dogs, knows that a puppy is quite frisky and ready to play. But Tucker sensed the angst and was able to put this patient at ease.
How wonderful that Dr. Murphy has a comfort animal to give even better care to his many dental patients.
