Reblogs Can Help You and the Original Author

RebloggingDo you know what a reblog is? It is sharing a post that another member that was written and posted on another members blog. You do this by using the reblog feature button that is under the written post. The ActiveRain network allows you to this if the member has not blocked that feature. The writer will get attribution for the post and their own byline.

Should I reblog another members post? Ask yourself if you want your readers to read the information? Is it well written and conveys a good point? Do you believe the content to be original and not copied and pasted? Do you mind posting something that is not your original? If you answer yes to these questions then reblogging may be something you want to incorporate into your blogging strategy.

When you click on the reblog a new window appears allowing you to write an introduction to the post or make comments. You don't have to take advantage of this feature but I think it is a nice thing to do. When you hit the publish button, you will see the post appear in your blog showing the original title of the writer.

If your reblog setting is activated and you are a Rainmaker and the post is for Public viewing, your posts may be reblogged. Rainer status members cannot be reblogged because their post are Members Only.

There are several members that regularly reblog. They set the reblogs to post through the ActiveRain scheduler or do them immediately. Either way will work.

There are others that won't do a reblog under any circumstances or very rarely. They only want their own posts on their blog. This is a personal choice and it is fine to not be a reblogger.

If you reblog, most of the time the author will be appreciative of you for reblogging and the fact that you thought their post was worthy to post on your blog.

HI Roy Kelley - I might have missed this.  I will go to Debbies Blog and leave a comment. I sometimes reblog just to have it in my blog post history. As with this post, I may have never caught it. Thank you!
