A bill named the Sunshine Protection Act, which would have Florida remain on Daylight Savings Time permanently, recently passed the Florida senate. If approved by the Governor and the U.S. Congress, this would make Florida the only state in the union to remain permanently on Daylight Savings Time. Other states (parts of Arizona, Hawaii) & U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa & the Virgin Islands) do not observe Daylight Savings time, i.e. they remain on Standard time year round.
