8 Top Irish Pubs In Charlotte To Enjoy On St. Patrick's Day

By

After watching Charlotte's 22nd Annual St. Patrick's Day parade and attending the Charlotte Goes Green Festival on St. Patrick's Day this Saturday, March 17th, you might be looking for a great Irish pub to enjoy a green beer or two and a good Irish meal. Here are 8 of Charlotte's most popular Irish pubs  you might want to check out, all of which are close by to where the Charlotte Goes Green Festival takes place.

  1. The Workman's Friend Irish Pub & Restaurant: 1531 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205 in Charlotte's Plaza Midwood area. Open since 2015, click here for more information about this popular Irish pub.

  2. Fitzgerald's: 201 E 5th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 near Charlotte's City Center in the First Ward neighborhood. Open since 2012, Fitzgerald's likes to refer to itself as an American tavern with an Irish twist!

  3. The Rogue Irish Pub: 1315 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203 in Charlotte's Dilworth area.  Shepherd's pie andfish and chips are just two of the authentic dishes served at this popular pub.

  4. Tyber Creek Pub: 1933 South Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203 in Charlotte's South End area. Open since 1999, Tyber Creek serves elevated Irish and American pub grub and especially for their reuben sandwich. Live music on weekends and considered by locals to be on one of the best places to be for St Patrick's Day and the World Cup.

  5. Connolly's On Fifth: 115 E 5th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 in the heart of Charlotte's Uptown at the corner of 5th Steet and North Tryon.  Connolly's is a traditional Irish pub with a large outdoor patio (considered one of the largest in Charlotte), live music, sports TV and ping pong.

  6. The Belfast Mill: 144 Brevard Court | Suite A, Charlotte, NC 28202. Opened in 2011, The Belfast Mill has been described as a little piece of Ireland located in the heart of the Brevard Court in uptown Charlotte's French Quarter.

  7. RiRa Irish Pub: 208 N Tryon Stree, Charlotte, NC 28202 in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. Rí Rá opened 1997, survived a major fire in 2009 and  celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017. Meticulously restored in Ireland and shipped to the USA, Rí Rá embodies everything one expects from a genuine Irish pub. The pub has been carefully restored from old Irish pubs and related salvaged artefacts, including an original shop bar, a 19th century Victorian bar.

  8. Murphy's Kitchen & Tap: 445 W Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 in Charlotte's Uptown/Third Ward area. Murphy's is an Irish gastropub serving comfort food, beer and cocktails in traditional digs with two patios. Murphy's likes to say it celebrates the stories and success of Irish Immigrants in America and offers a taste of Irish culture in Charlotte.

WE really have 2 pubs.  I like the smaller one where we all take turns being the pub drunk.

Sharon Tara ~ hi Sharon... I'm not a drinker, either, so wouldn't know how many pubs are the norm. But in Charlotte we have quite a number of Irish and British pubs plus sports bars. Obviously, it's a big thing here.
