The Quest for THE Perfect Website...

It has truly been a quest and sometimes I think I've got it figured out and sometimes I believe I need to re-think and start all over...

At this time, my main website is a Point2 Site.  I've started various Wordpress sites to go with that site and have debated just having a site built, Wordpress or Otherpress....  but I don't have a clue as to who is the best choice for doing that.

Without revealing any secrets, can you share what you use for your main website, why you chose it, etc..   Do you have more than one website, if you do, why and what kind of site is it?

I own 29 different domains, which is down from 40 owned about 2  years ago.  I was thrilled to get my main domain at auction IntegrityRealEstate.com

What works for you in the way of websites?  It's a maze out there.

I used to build my site myself with html code, 17 years ago, but then I discovered Point2, so much easier so I took down everything I had done and use it.  Then I got started buying more domains and establishing Wordpress installations on them but NEVER quite finishing them and they fall by the wayside with Point2 site being the stable site that I have kept now for probably 15 years..

If you can share insight, it would truly be appreciated.  What works for you???  Thank you in advance!

Hi Judi... well, you and I can speak by phone one day and commiserate. I'm in that thought process myself right now.

Nina,

I am ever so hopeful that some will share what is working succesfully for them and we both can benefit.  There are probably umpteen different directions to go that would work out, but I'm not sure how to find thos umpteen different ones at this point!

Hannah, you're making me feel better about where I've ended up.. those are the thoughts that I've had when I've looked at what's available that I might choose to replace my Point2 Site with.

I also use a point 2 site, and they do have an associated word press blog linked, you should check it out. I worked with that for a while but I prefer AR because of the SEO results and linking my blog page to my point2 site.

I have posted some in the Point2 Associated blog page, but like you, when blogging prefer Active Rain for SEO as long as I download the posts from time to time so they don't get totally lost if something happened to the AR site.  I've worked at establishing a wordpress site with a landing page to replace my Point2 but never quite get there and my Point2 site is ranking well in my market at this time.. just feel like I'm missing something..  Thank you for commenting with what you are doing, it makes me feel better about my choices so far.

You may very well be right.. I bet that's true and yet, I feel that many are looking for about the same thing that I am... maybe I'm wrong.

I use to use Front Page and Dreamweaver to create websites.  I would tweak them with bits of html code.  But, things have changed dramatically with web development in the last several years.

Myrl, what do you use at this time?  Yes, things have definitely changed and it is a lot more confusing. Thanks for commenting.

My husband and I are going to working on a website for my business soon.  I'm not looking forward to it.  So many choices and possibilities.

Chris, Please let us know what you decide to use for a site, and your logic in your choice, if you don't mind doing so.  Thank you for adding to this conversation.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

I used to have a Point2 site and then learned how to build WordPress sites. I built 2 and have been building upon them ever since. I link posts from here to there and for a very long time, you couldn't beat me in the Charlotte market - entire brokerages couldn't!

Fast forward to 2018 and I feel like I'm constantly working on it and accomplishing zip, zilch, nada...It's SO frustrating! I just changed IDX providers thinking that may be what it is.

IN THE MEANTIME, I had Elizabeth's hubby build me a site (from our group) and the leads never stop from that site - they haven't slowed down ONE BIT. Very sadly, I NEVER add anything to the site - EVER! It is SO discouraging, Judi! I've put my heart and soul into the ones that I built, treating them like they're my children - but, to no avail for probably the last 2 years.

Also, you asked about domain names - I use them to point to pages on my site. I probably own 75 or so and all of them point somewhere either on my site or my YouTube channel or my AR secondary blog. I'm happy to share what is working with you - just let me know when you're free!

Good morning Judi. This is a tough one. I just completed a new one with Go Daddy. It wasn't easy but eventually I paid for one of their experts and it helped.
