Do You Know What A Wattle Is?

We have seen these wattles along the freeways, and around buildings lately

At the Ace Hardware store as we were checking out, I noticed this new item called a "wattle". "Wattles (logs) are an erosion and sediment control device used to minimize erosion on construction sites. Wattles assist in stabilizing construction disturbances by shortening the slope lengths, reducing water flow velocities and trapping sediment on site."

Once again, we have an impending big 2 day storm on the way to our area, and another round of potential mandatory evacuation.

Well I learned something new. I see these all the time but never knew what they were called. I haven't noticed them being advertised for sale but there sure were lots of sandbags for residents for this last storm. The weather did not turn out to be what was anticipated, at least in my area, which is good. We actually could have used more rain! Glad things were not worse in your area!!
