Many areas of the US have MLS' that permit entry of green features to a listing. Considering how important ecological, environment, and energy saving is today, it would be nice if realtors and others involved in the housing market got local MLS' to have an emphasis on the important of greening homes. On my website, www.portwashingtonlongislandhouses.com, I include links to Green Blogs, ECOBROKER, and information about Green Features, such as Energy Star appliances, etc. I wish we could place more emphasis on this important issue!

Hi Richard ... You are right. On my MLS, if a house you are listing has green features, you have to fit them into the text portion of the listing where there is little room to begin with. It would be helpful to have them listed in the pull down menu as other features are. In general, other states seem to be more involved with "green" concepts than is NY. Eventually, we will catch up!

Thanks for your response. It is unfortunate that in NY we are so far behind much of the US when it comes to our responsibilies to our customers and clients. Texas, California, Colorado, much of New England-- even much of Florida-- are already serving this important need. This energy and environmental crisis is here to stay. If you wish to see the possibilities, go the my website at www.portwashingtonlongislandhouses.com, and then follow the link on the bottom of the homepage to ECOBROKER. Just click on the Ecobroker logo on the bottom of the page where the links are.
Thanks for your feedback.
