I happen to know that this school is a wonderful building block to future education, and the fact that I graduated from there a "few" years ago has everything to do with it :)

According to the article in Newsweek, "Public schools are ranked according to a ratio devised by Jay Mathews: the number of Advanced Placement, Intl. Baccalaureate and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school in 2007 divided by the number of graduating seniors."
In total, there were 1358 schools in the United States that were ranked. I think that we did pretty darn well coming in at the number seven spot!

It's a shame that North Charleston gets such a bad rap. I grew up there and went to public school there. I went on to college and graduate school and I think I turned out okay. It's nice to have someone focus on something positive about North Charleston. It's a convenient area and very affordable!
Michele: Thanks for stopping by. I agree with you 100%. I grew up on Johns Island, and I still live here, but the one question that everyone asks me is: "Did you go to school there, too?" I understand that there are a few lower scoring high schools in the area, but I honestly believe that you will get out of your education what you put into it. And parents should be putting in more than the teachers.
As far as North Charleston, I feel that the same applies. There are some really great neighborhoods in North Charleston, and you can be super close to all the shopping you could ever need.
