Spring is a Time for Growth

Flowers

Here in Texas our wildflowers are beginning to spring up, the grass is greening up, while the trees are gently budding forth! Spring time is always the reminder of new growth, renewal, and a fresh start. This always leads me to evaluate where I am in my business 3 months into the new year.

My team and I have been completing a mastermind group on John Maxwell's 15 Laws of Growth. What a perfect time of year to read this book. In four weeks, we have shared what we have learned, met to discuss, and to keep one another sharp!

The top take-a-ways from this book were so meaningful! Hopefully you too will find some wisdom and perhaps some encouragement from our study. This is super condensed but full of excellent information.

  1. We all need a plan for growth. Personally and professionally. Do you have a plan for growth? Plans take intention and effort.
  2. You must know yourself in order to grow yourself. Are you truly doing what you love to do? If not, find out what it is that makes you tick and make a plan to make it happen.
  3. Seeing value in yourself helps you to add value to others. Stop with the self-limiting talk and start with the self-loving talk.
  4. Learning how to pause allows for growth. Are you giving yourself needed breaks and rest?
  5. Change requires consistency. Is there something in your life that needs to change?
  6. Growth thrives in conducive surroundings. Take a moment to evaluate your current surroundings? Are they healthy, positive, and energetic? If not, figure out why and make the necessary changes in order to achieve this type of environment.
  7. To maximize growth, you must develop strategies. How are you getting to where you want to be?
  8. Your negative experiences can lead to positive growth but you need to know how to do this.  Identify the painful growth experiences you have had and look for ways to grow from them.
  9. Your personal character growth is essential to overall growth. What are you doing to grow your character daily?
  10. Strong growth results from being stretched. Are you too much in your comfort zone? If so, how can you be stretched and challenged to continue to grow?
  11. Many times we need to give up in order to grow up. Is there anything holding you back that you need to give up in order to move forward?
  12. Growth is stimulated by asking "why"? What is your "why" for what you do?
  13. Improvement in any area is increased when you have someone to follow and model. Who in your life is someone you could model and learn from?
  14. Growth always increases your capacity. Are you consistently learning new things?
  15. Growing yourself enables you to grow others. How are you coming alongside of another person to help or encourage them?

As you reflect on the coming Spring, take a moment to do some self-reflection. Growth is an important life-long requirement. How are you growing today?

Good evening Paula - we have to continue to stretch to grow.  No growth is really going backwards.

Morning Paula.

Our agency continues to grow, we are adding around 100 agents each month.  To not grow only makes one stagnant, which of course is not good

If you stop growing you stop! That wisdom came from my Mom and I think her and John M are on the same page!
