Ask yourself, which man (woman) are you?
One of my favorite quotes from Charles M. Schwab:
Three men were laying brick.
The first was asked: “What are you doing?”
He answered: “laying some brick.”
The second man was asked: “what are you working for?”
He answered: “Five dollars a day.”
The third man was asked: “What are you doing?”
He answered: “I am helping to build a great cathedral.”
Which man are you?
Too many times we get caught up in the “daily grind” and go through the motions of what is needed to be done. Don’t let yourself forget the big picture. Examine what you want to accomplish, review your goals…and if you have none, stop and take the time to write them. How else can you achieve if you have nothing to strive for?
