Pray For Displaced Christian Families in Southern States of Mexico
by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
In today's calendar by "The Voice of the Martyrs," we are asked to pray for displaced Christian families in southern Mexico.
Each calendar day assigns specific prayers for people groups in different countries.
In the United States, most people are free from religious persecution, including Christians. In many other countries, Christians are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
The United Mexican States (Estados Unidos Mexicanos) is a federal republic composed of 31 states and the capital, Mexico City, an autonomous entity on par with the states, similar to the status of Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America.
According to the Constitution of 1917, the states of the federation are free and sovereign, with its own congress and constitution. The states are internally divided into municipalities. Each municipality is autonomous in its ability to elect their own council. In total there are 2438 municipalities in Mexico, the state with the highest number of municipalities is Oaxaca, with 570, and the state with the lowest number is Baja California, with only 5.
On April 10, we are asked to "Pray For Displaced Christian Families in Southern States of Mexico."
"Father God, Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, we lift up the southern states of Mexico and its people, both Christian believers and those of different faiths. We ask that you provide for homes, shelter, food and jobs for those in need. Protect them from those with evil intent. Answer these prayers, and answer their prayers. Amen."
