Pray for Somalian Christians to be Encouraged, Depend on God's Word
by Silicon Valley REALTOR Michelle Carr Crowe
Each day "The Voice of the Martyrs" calendar asks Christians to pray for people groups in different countries.
In the United States, most people are free from religious persecution, including Christians. In many other countries, Christians are persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ.
On April 11, we are asked to "Pray for Somalian Christians to be Encouraged, Depend on God's Word."
Somalia, officially the Federal Republic of Somalia, is located in the famed Horn of Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia to the west, Djibouti to the northwest, the Gulf of Aden to the north, the Indian Ocean to the east, and Kenya to the southwest. Somalia has the longest coastline on Africa's mainland. It is hot year-round, with periodic monsoon winds and irregular rainfall. Somalia's capital is Mogadishu.
"Father God, Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ, we lift up Christians in Somalia. We ask that you encourage them each day, as they learn to trust and depend on God's word, the Bible. Protect them from anyone or any spirit with evil intent. Answer these prayers, and answer their prayers. Amen."
