I have been so busy the last few days I havent had a second to write a blog! But thats a good thing since I have had a very slow last few months.

Anyway, I noticed a cycle, with myself and I bet most people have their own cycle.

I had an awesome 2007! Worked non stop until about November then my business came to a stand still. At first I found myself depressed and not knowing what to do with all of my free time! I craved to work!

Then after a couple of months I began establishing a routine for myself that didn't include work at all. I finally stopped worrying about work and began enjoying all of the other activites I learned to fill my free time with.

Then guess what happened next? I'm flooded with work and don't want to give up my new routine! I'm sure this will pass and I will adjust back into the work mode!

I was just thinking about this today and thought it was kind of funny.

12 Comments on Adjusting from famine to feast! How do you do it?

Like you said in your title, feast or famine, that just seems to be the way it goes.  I tend to like feast myself, but never complain when I have a famine or two.

It does seem to work that way, Jennifer.  I noticed all the things coming through for you.  Congratulations.

Thanks for the comments!

Barbara, I passed you in the hall and didn't stop in to chat like I normally do today. The reason is because I was on a dead run all day, but I figured you knew that! Didn't mean to be rude.

Jennifer:  I seem to follow the same pattern.  The quiet times are sometimes really tough.  The busy times sometimes brings on a heart attack!

It has gotten busier across the country I think.  Thank goodness for spring.

I use the down time to tweak my systems, update my database and do some business planning.  When I get busy, I don't have time to work as much on my business.

Jennifer,  It sound like you have a great problem to be dealing with.  I am sure you will find some free time.

Don't you hate it when work gets in the way of life. My philosophy is work hard, but enjoy life -- because it is a gift and it is short.

What other things did you find that you enjoyed when not working?  Let me guess -- brushing your dogs beautiful teeth?  :)

Jennifer,

Very good post and so true!  I try to take advantage of slow time, but I had rather be busy!

Kevin, I didn't brush my dogs teeth but not a bad idea as she tend to have bad breath! I have been hitting the gym and working on my yard and house mostly, a little gourmet cooking too!

Mary, I would rather be making money too!
