No matter what time of year you visit Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona Arizona, the drive alone is rated by Rand McNally as a "Top 5 Most Scenic Drive".  The drive on the 89A through Oak Creek Canyon is about 14 miles long. Majestic mountains tower  thousands of feet above the canyon floor.

You will feel like you are in the heart of mountains as you meander up or down this picturesque road. There are popular destinations to have lunch,  go fishing in the creek or enjoy swimming at Slide Rock State Park. You may choose to hike West Fork trail. This is one of the most popular hiking areas in the entire area, especially in fall. Near the top of the canyon, there is a fountain near the side of the road that people come from miles around to fill containers full of the purest water you can find anywhere. 

Camping and mountain cabins fill the canyon. Some camping areas are seasonal. Make your reservations months in advance to secure a spot!
