When I first joined Active Rain, I did'nt do much more than create a profile and blog once or twice. Then, around Dec. 07, I was looking for a way to increase Advantage Inspection Clear View's web presence. I looked again at Active Rain and discovered a valuable asset in my battle to grow our buisness, with only an investment in time and effort. When you find out what it can do for your business you will wish you had found it sooner.

And that's one of the best 'secrets' of Active Rain. Everything you blog (on your personal blog) becomes available on the web almost instantaneously. And you can choose to post it nationwide or only locally.
For instance, Google ' pre-listing inspections Greensboro NC ' and see how many of my blogs come up in the results. I cover the first half of the first page, and four of the results are from Active Rain or Localism (a local sister site for Active Rain). As you can see, I dominate this subject in Greensboro...
For myself, it has become a great way to get Advantage Inspection Clear View's presence 'out there' where people are looking for information about inspections, pre-listing or otherwise. If you can write knowledgably about any aspect of the Real Estate market or process, you can become the local expert on your subject.
Especially if you have a niche you can write about, you can connect with people who are looking for information about that niche market. You become the expert people rely upon. You are more likely to be sought out when that person is ready to buy or sell.
Active Rain is also a great storehouse of free insider advice and information. Since agents are not directly competing with one another by virtue of being in different markets, and because they want high internet visibility, and just because they like to share their wisdom, Active Rain offers a free education on any topic related to Real Estate you could hope to find. And if you can't find a specific answer, you can always post a question and other agents are happy to share what they know ! Incredible !
Also, as you gain points by various means, you can see your local profile rising in Localism, the local sister site to Active Rain, which also appears in search engine results. This gets your face out there too. (Click on my picture..)
As you can see, I am in the # 1 position in High Point, and # 2 in Greensboro.
Active Rain is fun and can lead to referrals. Post all your listings and they also show up in search engine results for the neighborhood buyers are looking at.
