No matter how much a contractor or a salesperson trys to persuade you that siding is perfect, there's just no such thing as the perfect siding. All of them have advantages and disadvantages, and they all deteriorat at some point. Just some faster than others.
It's up to your Home Inspector to determine if the deterioration is significant enough to note to you.
For example, minor hairline cracks just a few inches long are typically ignored or written up as cosmetic. If there are large cracks that well allow water to get behind the siding, these should be pointed out and written up in your report. Because this can lead to raptd decaying within the walls of the home.
