But making a decision to move is a major life changing decision.
My family moved to Florida over 30 years ago. We fell in love with the State of Florida from our very first visit. The harsh winter weather is making many northerners think about moving out of state. Florida has remained one of the top states for people relocating in from other states. Lately, we have been receiving many calls from people all around the country telling us they are considering relocating and making a move to Florida. Of course, they have many questions about what to expect, and where to start?
How do you even start to plan for such a major move? When is the best time of the year to move? Obviously this is a major decision, and one that requires a great detail of research and planning beforehand. If you are considering moving to Florida, here are a few tips to ensure a smooth move and relocation:
Deciding where to relocate in Florida. Location will be your number one decision. Do you have friends or family already living in Florida? Some areas of Florida are more congested than others with more traffic. Florida is a large state and very diverse each with their own flavor.
What climate changes to expect when living in Florida. Winters here in Florida for the most part, are very mild. No winter coats or shoveling snow here. Some nights can get chilly, but the warmer weather usually returns the next day. On the other hand, some people need time to adjust to the changes in humidity and hotter summers. We also have hurricanes to deal with and severe weather as well.
