Spring at the Dallas Arboretum - Guest Martha Stewart

Spring at the Dallas Arboretum is a wonderful treat. The birds are happy. Flowers are blooming. Buds have burst into blossoms and bright leaves. As of Sunday, 4/15/18, it was lush green with tulips still blooming, new azaleas, a spectacular rose garden, and there is an array of vivid colors and gorgeous flowers. The scent of the gardens are simply heavenly. A harpist played her harp to familiar tunes, such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

With late spring I was surprised to see all the Red Maple Trees which usually don't bloom until later in summer. Spring is truly filled with surprises! The Arboretum was filled with happy tunes sung by birds, many were taking baths.

For admission and additional information contact their website at The Dallas Arboretum by clicking on the link. This Spring the Dallas Arboretum features the Kinetic Art of Lyman Whitakier, the creator of hand-crafted wind sculptures. There is tranquility and kinetic movement throughout the gardens and it's beautiful! It will be on display until July 31, 2018.

The Dallas Arboretum is full of surprises. In addition to Thursday concerts on White Rock Lake, there are early morning walks exclusively available for members only, special children adventures and exhibits, daily tastings at the new kitchen, plant lab pH flower power, El Centro College Cooking Connection, and on May 11, special Guest Speaker Martha Stewart, is the Great Contributor to Art Award honoree to talk about her latest book, Martha's Flowers: A Practical Guide to Growing, Gathering, and Enjoying.

The Dallas Arboretum is a must see when visiting Dallas.

Sacramento needs a really nice arboretum, like the one you have in Dallas.  We are so focused on sports arenas the last couple of decades, that we can't seem to see much else.

More lovely photos from my friend, Patricia! If you're into gardening (which I am not) it would be wonderful to hear Martha Stewart speak. I'd rather hear her talk on cooking, myself!

Brian England - I have been to many Arboretums and Botanical Gardens. In my opinion, Dallas has one of the best. Plus, you can visit it year-round and there's always something in bloom, interesting, and enjoyable. If you ever have a chance to visit the Dalla, I highly recommend the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.

Debbie Reynolds - I think Martha is an extraordinary woman too. Plus, she has a calm demeanor and very motivating without being pushing or demanding.

She sure does make "everything look easy!" I would love to spend a day with her and just observe! Wouldn't that be fun!
