Pay It Forward....food for poor
Learning a lot about Paying it Forward at ActiveRain.
Food for poor is surely a great thing.
A re-post from Praful Thakkar
Pay It Forward....food for poor
I wish I could share this story with some pictures. Unfortunately, I will not be able to do so as some people will call it a 'display of poverty' for India.
My stay in India got extended - thanks to snow storm which forced London's airports to be closed. This gave me an opportunity to visit a few holy places near Mumbai. (Yes, I do believe in God..)
After the religious rituals when we came out of temple, we were surrounded by half-naked beggers with clothes torn and the gloomy faces, begging for food. It is almost two decades since I left India - and though I have seen such things during my stay in India, this was something that shook our hearts. (I was with my brother-in-law's family.)
We stopped by at nearby small restaurant and ordered some food for them including few cups of tea and were happy to see them quenching their thirst and hunger.
I know I will not be there all the time but pray to God that they do not remain hungey and someone is out there to feed these poor souls.
Paying it forward by feeding the poor people in India was lot different than my previous pay it forward. I just wish I do not see such sights any more in India.
