dandelionOne of the benefits of living in a four season area is you get FOUR seasons!  We get warm summers, bright crisp falls, snowy winters (but not TOO much snow), and the rebirth of Spring with the return of green and flower blooms.

This Spring?  It's been a bit strange here!  We've been cold and warm and cold and warm...and that might just be in a 24 hour period!

When Facebook pops up past memories I see that I SHOULD have an azalea bush or two or fifty in full bloom, but that's not the case, although I'm seeing a few flower buds getting ready to burst open!

This morning as took the four Chihuahuas out for their morning biobreak, there were a few flakes of snow falling.  Yesterday afternoon the honeybees were VERY busy coming and going.  While we're a LONG way from peak bloom season, we are getting color to return. Some of the daffodils have already come and gone, while others are at peak.  Forsythia, sweet almond, phlox, barrenwort, woodland wildflowers and wild violets are all busy.  Green growth tells me the hydrangeas, columbine and cornflowers are coming back to life, as are the lupines from Maine we love so much.

It's still too cold to plant anything new, and the flower beds could certainly use some attention, but I've been stalling waiting for the weather to get out of this mixed season and just stay WARM!  There's weeds to pull and flowerboxes to refill.

But the really strange thing about this weather?  Some of the dandelions have already bloomed and turned to seed!

So tomorrow I'll enjoy the blooms as I can, but it's also a day showing patio homes and condos with one of my buyers.  That weeding will just have to wait!

Just give us a call at 513-520-5305 and we can chat about whether we're the right real estate agent team to take care of you!

We look forward to helping you with your home needs!

The bees love those dandelions, always glad to see them blooming!

I'm under general orders to NOT cut the lawn until I absolutely have to.  Having honeybees has its perks :)

Good for you two. Let those bees work the dandelions. D

It has been weird here also.  We have gone from 80 degrees to 65 degrees with a strong wind so it feels colder.  The tomato plants are in the ground and probably wondering what is going on.  Now I do know those temps don't get sympathy but our plants would like some warmer weather.

This morning frost, this afternoon gorgeous house showing weather :)  Way too early for me to think about planting anything yet, but we'll probably do a few tomato plants again this year.  Mainly our garden is flowers.

Spring - what spring? We had a beautiful weekend last weekend and then the cold weather rolled in - today it was in the 40s and miserable!

We've been back and forth, looking forward to a steady warmth and letting the gardens get in full gear.

Dandelions are going crazy at our place too. Like you, we're letting the bees do their job. D

Liz had ordered a bee "package" and she received it yesterday.  This evening we installed the package, so we're back up to 2 hives.  And it was another busy day, so no closer to weeding or mowing the lawn.
