Even This Stager Had to Be Shown...
You’ve probably heard your stager or your agent tell you that your buyers have to be able to see the space. This is especially true of your garage.
For many years, our two car garage held one of our 3 cars, in addition to 2 bicycles, 8 kayaks, and about a dozen radio-controlled airplanes. (and yes, some plastic bins for storing items for staging.)
And for a number of years, my husband suggested that if we edited what we no longer wanted, needed or used, we could get 2 of our cars in the garage.
I kept looking and saying “No way!” Even if this is a two car garage, I didn’t think we could get 2 cars in and keep some of the items we needed. Remember, in Florida, there are no basements for all of the extras we have.
Well, one day, we got a bee in our bonnet and decided to see if we could get two of our cars in the garage. After a few trips to donate items we no longer needed and a few transactions on CraigsList and OfferUp, we were ready to try it.
Even though this home stager could not see the space for two cars...there was!
The point is if a professional home stager who does this all of the time can’t see if a two car garage will indeed hold two cars, then how do you expect your potential buyers to?
Don’t leave it to your buyers to believe what is written in the MLS or what they are told by their agents.
Show your buyers by editing what you have and showing them your two cars in the garage.
