It doesn't matter your politics. It doesn't matter where you were when President Kennedy was shot or what you believe really happened on Chappaquiddick It doesn't even matter if you believe in the "No child Left behind" program or the health care bill being argued about in our higher courts... None of this really matters. When it comes to health... Don't we just wish every one well? Ted Kennedy has served our Nation well even if we didn't always agree with him. He "showed up" for the State of Massachusetts. He took stand a even when unpopular. I have not always agreed with him. I have had an opportunity to tell him so. But he is a gracious politician... a statesman... a wordsmith and to many an Icon. He is a Cape Codder and as I watched him sail the Hyannis Harbor I thought about his mother Rose, his brothers Jack and Bobby and his nephew John. Carpe Diem, Teddy... Carpe Diem! I wish you well and have a %$#@! blast at FIGAWI!
FIGAWI is an annual sailing race from Hyannis to Nantucket that raises thousands of Dollars for the Cape and Islands. Proceeds support Human Service Programs, Cape Cod Artists, and Education.
Great Post Annie this is a time to be positive and remember Ted Kennedy's legacy and all of the good things that he's done for this country and Massachusetts being in the senate since the 60's. His family has had so much death and tragic times to deal with. They have to deal with it publicly of course on the front page! And to relay our best hopes for his health and for medical researchers to find a cure.
Classy Post Annie! Ted will go down as one of our noble statesman! A title well deserved! Hopefully he'll have a few more good years to give the citizens of the US. I for one am proud to be an American (much of that is due to the Kennedy's)!
Hi Annie. I don't like his politics either. And unlike Steve, I have a hard time not remembering all the things he's done. I don't wish anyone pain or suffering. Fortunately for him, he and his family will have time to say their good-byes, and to possibly resolve unfinished issues. Not everyone gets that opportunity.
I remember Teds dedication to all the people in Mass well. His legacy is share and care..
I was a Reagan Republican enamored with the charisma, influenced by talk radio and tabloid mentality!!! When he was done with us we had barely beat out the USSR("R stands for REPUBLIC") to terminal bankruptcy.. We sold our house 2 weeks before foreclosure at a 5 digit loss and felt blessed..
SOUNDS FAMILIAR to me... Hindsight, I regret never having voted for Bill Clinton..
Hindsight,Carter was bumped because of Solar,Vegas ,Pintos and tree hugging..
This was a terrrific post regarding Ted Kennedy. I don't care what you want to say about him he and his politics he has dine great things for our state.
Annie, I don't agree with Ted Kennedy's politics 90% of the time, but I wish him well now.
