** Are you getting these BOGUS REFERRAL LEADS??

I don't know if it is only me but has anyone also been getting these Referral Leads sent to their email account. These are 'supposedly' referral leads from other AR members. It states that it is a referral lead but when you click on the link, it is merely more about advertising their services instead.

One link I had said that there is a 25% referral fee. They will pay you if you sent them a buyer for their property listing. Another said they have a client who is looking to buy a home in a certain area and if you have a listing that fits their criteria then they will give you a fee. One other merely advertises their services that they do shortsales and can buy your shortsale listings. Another one I just received today stated that they can help you get financing for your clients.

When I see these emails coming in under the words Referral Lead, I thought it would be someone who wants to referral a buyer or seller to you to handle the transaction and that you can pay them a referral fee for helping them out. I don't know about you but these bogus leads seemed to be members trying to solicit business rather than sending you a real referral.

Jim,

I have not gotten those yet but I am getting notifications from a company that sells leads that they have someone wanting to buy in my area. I just toss those e-mails in trash file. Prospective clients can and do find me at the top of all the search engines. I do not need a middleman!

If you signed up for referral notification on that section of AR you'll get all the referrals sent to you via email.  That is why I un-signed.  Most of the leads are not leads at all, but advertisements.

Mike, I also get those notifications as well. It is becoming a nuisance.

Kris, thanks for confirming. I thought it was just me. And yes, most of the leads are just advertisements than anything.
