How often do you update your advertising photo? Are you using a photo that is dated and no longer looks like you? Is there a reason that you would do that?
There are a couple of agents in my area that use advertising photos of themselves that must be quite old. When you see them in person they look nothing like the card in my card file. Deceptive?
I am curious as to the reason someone would want to do this. To me I think it could be viewed by the client as deceptive and dishonest. If you have a business card with a picture and you are meeting that person for the first time you have an image that you are looking for. If that person appears and is nothing like the image what is that really saying about them?
Ok...maybe I am looking a little to deep at this, I don't know. But it is kind of a pet peeve of mine. There is a large number of agents in my market and unfortunately I don't know them all personally. So if I have a deal going with one and go to meet with them the first time and they look nothing like the picture I am kind of caught of guard.
So I know you are asking by now....does my picture right over there ------------------>
look like me? Yep, that's me! That is a fairly recent picture. Ok, no cracks on my picture.
But what I am saying is that if I were to shave my head it would in no way come close. Now I cannot say that I am going to throw out all of my marketing materials if that happened just that I would put A LOT of thought efore I did something graphic like that.
Advertising pictures...keep them current.
I figure anyone can get a couple of years behind. That said, it isn't good when I don't recognize an agent I meet and I am holding a photo...
