I have received many emails from collegues and friends asking how come I have not been blogging lately. They wanted to know if I was ok. To all of you...Thank You!!!
I have been going CRAZY preparing and creating a powerpoint presentation for the first time ! to start doing some educating in Home Staging at local Real Estate offices, etc.. I finished my presentation and it came out with 63 slides, LOOKS AWESOME... many of those are before and afters of vacant and lived-in while selling homes. Shows the benefits of staging, How every realtor should have a Stager They Trust ! as part of their team. We are all aware that Staging is one of the biggest and most effective tools that a Realtor can count on for their Marketing Strategy. And Staging it is proven to work !

Fernando~ Sounds like you have been working really hard. I bet it is a really good presentation. I would love to see it sometime. I couldn't tell you how to get it onto your laptop though, I am just learning all of this stuff myself!
Vickie I just googled home stager in Owensboro, Kentucky and many came up, Ill send them to your email. Good Luck.
Vanessa Thats exactly what I need !!! Thanks
Marci many slides are before and afters. I even have case studies like "Show a picture and ask them Ok you just got this listing, what do you tell the seller ? That way is an interactive presentation. I cant wait to do my first one !
Elaine Thank You I will let you know how my First presentation goes...As you know in the presentation dept. I am still a virgin ! (don't go there....LOL)
I've burned my presentation to a cd since both my laptop and desktop have a cd drive, but I think a thumb or flashdrive is the ticket. I've been burning the midnight oil on my powerpoint presentation also . . . hope your eyes aren't bloodshot like mine! Wishing you great success on your presentations!
I too created a powerpoint presentation for a tradeshow we did recently and it was incredibly effective. I had it at about 50 slides to begin with but pared it down some so that people stopping by our booth could read it easily from start to finish. Was one of the best ways to get across the benefits of home staging and we had sooo many people ask for our contact information as a result of it.
We are thinking of setting up an "information night" for sellers and buyers and I will be once again creating a powerpoint presentation that will be an effective tool to help demonstrate the importance of staging. We want to do this in January before the spring market starts so that people have a chance to get some information before they have to put their homes on the market!
I love doing all that computer stuff - my partner is not as computer savvy as I am and she relies heavily on me to do things like powerpoint presentations we take when doing consults, designing and updating our website and creating all kinds of marketing materials. It's just another way for me to be creative!
Congratulations on creating your 1st PPT Fernando! I
echo the "flashdrive" to get what you need (for some reason I call it a "jump drive" but whatever) and it's good backup too to take with you when you don't have your laptop and you can use it on someone elses'.
For my class (it's 8 hours in total over 4 nights) I created a 240 page PPT! So I know how labor intensive these are. I also have a 1 hour version for smaller workshops. I even just created one for the career day talk I'm doing at my daughter's middle school next month and it had to be less than 20 mins long. Once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy.
Fernando - I had the same problem. I don't have Powerpoint on my laptop and my son said then that I couldn't play it on my laptop using a flashdrive. Do you have the program on your laptop? I'd like to know for future reference, if you don't, if the flash drive worked. Like others, I put it on a disc and played it that way. Good luck!! (Ours first one was about a month ago).
Congratulations on putting your first power point together! I'm sure it looks fantastic! In order to download it onto your laptop you need to transfer the power point onto a jump drive stick. Then you can transfer the information to any computer you want. Good luck, hope the presentation is successful for you! :)
I am just now updating my website and marketing material as it is very old and stale...POWER POINT is my next venture but I am a bit scared to tackle on my own. Good luck and I know you must be excited about having this valuable teaching tool...AHH this is next on my to do list
Phyllis, a piece of cake, the powerpoint makes itself, the key is to say enough to make the point but brief enough not to make a slide of all words. SO,,,go for it.
Fernando, any of the ways noted here work, or email Chris, she does it all day long. chris@stagersLIST.com. OBTW thanks for the nice words about her in Kym's blog post.
Fernando, if you want to email it get winzip a free evaluation program. You can zip the file and email it to your other computer. If you don't feel comfortable doing that then the zip drive is the way to go.
