Today I just read an online news article about saving gas. It references to earlier information and info posted here on AR sometime ago, saying that a lot of the advice given in that AR post wouldnt help and may even hurt.

Here's the article at http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/105077/6-Gas-Saving-Myths

Of course you should perform regular oil changes, and keep your tire pressure at acceptable levels for better and optimum level of gas usage. You should of course either brake or accerelate at acceptable levels so not to waste gas. My car has a manual transmission which Ive always thought was better for gas usage. With gas going to $4 per gallon, realtors, consumers and the general public have to conserve.

I read this article a few days ago.  If they were true - all auto makers and gas stations would be doing it.

Gas conversation is key right now! Thanks for the post.

Hey Stephen;

I read this on Yahoo too...about 3 days after I posted the other! The only one of the Gas Tips it discredited was the one about filling it up in the morning. Man I hate having to send out retractions! Ha Ha.

Just wanted to say that some gas stations are offering a cash discount when you pay with cash sometimes up to 5 cents a gallon!

I actually went into a large gas station and was told by the clerk that only the smaller and privately owned gas stations could give a cash discount! Why is anybody's guess?

Thanks for the tips! I have also heard that when going over 40 mph you should always keep your windows up. It willl reduce the wind drag. With gas prices as high as they are right now, I will definitly be doing every thing i can to save gas.

Chevron , Mobile , Shell etc won't  usually offer cash discounts because they are owned and controlled by big oil, or owners have to follow their franchise rules,

At this point I am willing to do whatever it takes to save. Many of my sales are up to an hour away due to living in the country. Yuck...

Ok thanks for the tips.

Bill I think you are right about the bigger stations not offering cash discounts.

Sharon & Cindy hopefully high gas prices at these prices will only last a couple of months til after the summer. But yes we all have to do whatever we can to save gas. That should include using the web to show clients properties instead of driving around endlessly. And having your buyers drive you around to show properties.
