Well, it’s happened and the folks at Fairvue Plantation and Windstar Bay in Sumner County and Barton’s Cove subdivision in Wilson County are very happy campers. Some of these happy residents have been approved for private boat docks. Approximately 5 ½ miles of shoreline and about 115 lots were opened up by the Corps. According to the Tennessean article, the largest allocation will be going to Fairvue Plantation residents.
The Army Corps of Engineers has the final authority to approve . Mark Klimaszewski, conservation biologist for the Corps of Engineers, was quoted as saying “Our goal is to balance the private exclusive use with the best management practices for the public as a whole.” Click Here For Entire Article
Just last year someone told me that it would never happen. The people are Fairvue Plantation would “never” enjoy boat docks. That they were “too high maintenance”. But, the people at Fairvue remained positive and now their hopes and dreams are going to come true.
It's like my granny used to say when someone used the word "never", "Never Say Never”.
