Back Patio Garden Fruits & Veggies

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Waves Realty BK3246853

I promised Ron and Alexandra Seigel that I would post some of the fruit and veggies growing on my back patio.

Here you go guys...in this first photo this is one of the three pineapples that are growing (these are so easy...you just cut off the top and plant it in a pot).

This is from the lemon tree planted about a year ago...the lemons are huge and still have a way to go.

This is a dual planter with both chive and potato. The chives grow so fast you can use them in a matter of days.

Jeff,

Thank you for sharing your backyard photos.  You inspired me to try growing a  pineapple! I know what you mean about chives, they grow like crazy faster than I can use them.  A

Ron and Alexandra Seigel just cut the top of one (leave all the leaves on) and plant the top in a decent sized pot. They do not grow as big as the original but they are delicious. Put them in direct sun if you can.

OK- Jeffrey- you have inspired me. Since pineapples are one of my favorite fruits, I'm going to try to grow one.

Jeff, did not know you were a gardner, and sure wish we could grow pineapple and lemons - so jealous!

Jeffrey, I will be curious to see what will come out of the cut top of a pineapple. I had no idea the pineapple plant looked like the one in your picture - I had only seen the fruit, stacked in the store shelves. This is so awesome ...

Jeffrey, we are such a different zone (zone 8)than you, but chives must be hardy-darned plants, cuz they grow like crazy HERE, too!

It would be divine to grow limes and lemons here as I use them for everything. OH, well, ain't gonna happen. Loved your pics. And who knew it would be so easy to grow pineapples!!

Jeff, our weather has been sketchy lately, so have not planted tomatoes and peppers yet.   Your garden is looking GREAT.
