HONORING THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE  FOR OUR COUNTRY!  Memorial Day is a federal holiday, it is celebrated on the last Monday in May.  Flags are flown at half mast, in honor of our  fallen heros.  Let's remember them and their families on this day!

ALSO, LET'S NOT FORGET OUR SOLDIERS WHO ARE SERVING TODAY!  These men and women are serving their country, leaving family behind, so that we may continue to enjoy the freedom we have.  It doesn't matter if you are for or against the war, pray for our military!

As we gather with family and friends for picnics and fun, take the time to offer a moment of silence, for the service men and women who gave their lives for our country!

I cannot figure out why you don't have 90,000 comments to this one.  We should all be proud enough of our freedom to take a stand and say thank you in some form.  As free business owners, the honor of having someone other than ourselves protecting our way of life is critical.  My daughter is participating with Army ROTC while in school at the University of Georgia and I am extremely proud of her choice.

Thank you for taking this stand.

We will all remember, Mary.  And I'll be remembering my children's father who gave his life for this country.

Wayne,

Thank you so much for your response, your daughter is a fine example of what an American should be, I know you are proud.  We should always honor or service men and women, they do a fine job!

Barbara,

I appreciate your response, your husband was a very brave man.  I had an uncle, who served in WW2 and was captured and in a prison camp for most of the war.  He was 18 when he went in and came out weighing less than 80 pounds.  It really did a number on his mind, he was in and out of Ft. Roots most of his life.  He never regretted having served, it was a privilege to him.  He used to tell me war stories, I never forgot them.  The service men and women are all special to me.  We all have so much to be thankful for.

It was a priviledge to go to the local parade, and see all the veterans who served our country, and the day that say's "Thank you" to all our men and women in the service.  Our Freedom is not free.  I hope you had a great day today, too.  Lu
