On Wednesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m at the Darby Borough Hall, 821 Summit Street, Darby Pennsylvania there will be a public meeting regarding the Main Street Vision Plan which is being prepared in cooperation with the Delaware County Planning Department.

Your attendence is encouraged, so that the County and Borough planners can hear your thoughts on what would make Main Street a better place to live, work, shop, or travel through.  This revitalization effort will serve to spark job growth and beautification, in the Borough, improve the quality of life for Darby residents, and serve to improve real estate values throughout the Borough.

Your input matters.

With a common vision, anything can be achieved.

I was unable to attend the meeting, due to a schedule conflict.  I am trying to get a report from someone who was at the meeting, and will hopefully have something to report soon.

The Main Street Vision Plan meeting on March 14 was reasonably well attended and there were a number of interesting ideas brought forward. It is wonderful to see people working together to find a common vision for this rather remarkable borough. My personal feeling is that Darby is more of a village, and I hope that people can begin to recognize and utilize their gifts of strategic location, superlative history, amazing transportation access and beautiful natural settings nestled between and along Darby and Cobbs Creeks.  Finding a theme is in interesting process because there are examples and reminders of nearly all eras from Printz's 1646 mill to the modern day.
