Eight trout

I have thought about this many times.  Fishing is like real estate.  Sometimes you catch them and sometimes you don't.  Sometimes you hook them and loose them.  Sometimes you hook them and actually real them in.  It can be fun just feeling them nibbling on the hook.  It is exciting.  But it is more fun when you real them in and land them right in the boat.  That is your reward.

But whether you land your fish, catch the biggest one, catch the smallest or catch the most, just enjoy it and have a blast!!!  These eight trout, (actually 9 were landed but it was in the bottom of the cooler and we didn't see it to take the picture) were caught last Sunday night at Lake Tulloch, California.

So how many times do you have to show property before they even nibble????  Who knows???  The more time spent the more fish you will catch.  Fishermen/women try every type of bait they can think of.  They fish at the crack of dawn, in the late afternoon and even after dark.

If you are in a rut with real estate.......TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.  Work at different hours, go different places and meet different people.  USE DIFFERENT BAIT.  When a client nibbles and you loose them, don't give up, put that bait back in the water and keep trying.  Don't ever look back or you might set yourself up to loose the next one.  And the next one might be a BIGGER FISH.

HAPPY FISHING!  Let me know how you do......in real estate and fishing.

Oh, by the way, did I tell you you caught the biggest fish?????  You got it.

Roxanne....finally someone who LOVES to fish and is not a MALE!!!  I have "fished" aournd with the thought of doing a blog on the same subject...you beat me to it.  Guess the early bird catches the worm and then goes fishing (smile).  Yes ma'am...real estate is soooo much like fishing.  I have an 8lb Bass on my wall (although taxidermist felt it was more like 11 lbs) and it took many times of battling the wind, casting over and over and over....but when that bad boy HIT there was nothin' like it!!!  Just like that sale...persitence (spelled right?) is the name of the game in fishing and real estate.  PLUS....fishing is my "chillin out time" when I can just concentrate on trying to land that big one and just meditating.  So, I salute you with my Tru-Turn and here's to great fishing and great sales!

Alicia.....What lake or lakes do you fish in?  Have you ever caught crappie??  They are wonderful to eat.  I caught a 3 pound crappie.  that is a big crappie.  Wow 8 lb or 11 lbs, that is something to be proud of.  The biggest trout I have caught was a 5 lb.  Fishing is my "chillin out time" too and getting some sun.  How's your real estate market there?

Roxanne, Sorry did not mean to mislead...was not a TROUT mine was actually a Bass!! I LOVE to fish for them because they love to put up a good fight.  Other than deep sea fishing (which was MANY years ago in another life...smile) that is about the best rush I can get.  Also, in my area alot of fishing gets accomplished in a pond.  I get so tickled at the advertising by some agents in our area...they think if it has water it is a lake...nope...I have been told got to be at least to qualify as a lake.

I really cannot complain about the market lately...for me it has been steady and for that I am grateful.  My broker is out on the coast so I have been handling alot of her stuff plus mine so it has kept me busy.  The calls are steady though and with school nearing an end...should really pick up for awhile.  2007 was slow compared to before year(s) but I made a living...Well, I better sign off for now...got a busy day tomorrow with some relocaters from FL.  Hope your upcoming week is busy and profitable!  I am just getting into this "blog thing" so I will be "in and out".
