The Daily News Journal reports that Smyrna will soon have a second Publix grocery store.  The current store is located on the Sam Ridley Parkway side (north) of Smyrna.  That's where Smyrna's recent real estate boom has been focused.

The new store will be on the south side of Smyrna, at the corner of Almaville Road and Lee Victory.  Smyrna has seen a great deal of residential real estate development at the Lee Victory exit, but the commercial development has been slower to follow on that side of town.  A Publix at that location will be the closest store for many new Smyrna residents living along Almaville Road and into the town of Almaville.
