The following list is considered a minimal what a good Electrical System should consist of. I most of the country.
A minimum of 100 amp, 220 volt service for a single family home. ( a 200 amp is really better to have now a day's)
Two or more 20 amp kitchen appliance circuits
In a kitchen an outlet is required at each counter area thats wider than 12", they shoud be GFCI
A 20 amp circuit for the laundry room, exclusive for the draer outlet
Wall outlets in every room so cords do not have to extend more than six feet
At least one outdoor receptacle that is GFCI
At least one basement receptacle that is GFCI
GFCI - Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter, protection is required in these areas
Any and all outdoor receptacles
All receptacles in bathrooms
Any and all accessible receptacles in a garage
All outlets in the kitchen with in 6 feet of a sink
Any outlet with in 6 feet of hot tubs, spas, pools
At least one outlet in the basement of the home

Dale, I've recently had a few home inspections done and each one that had a 100 amp service panel, the inspector recommended an upgrade to 200 amps. One I understood, because the AC unit was drawing 60 amps...the other a plain ordinary swamp cooler. What gives?
