If you have lived in Santa Clarita for some time, then chances are you have driven past a large vacant piece of Santa Clarita real estate at the corner of McBean and Decoro, that in the past few months has undergone a transformation.

The parcel is owned by the Metropolitan Water District, and was built by Newhall Land & Farm. The fences are due to come down sometime in June and in July the responsibilty of maintianing the area will be in the competent care of the Land Maintence District of Santa Clarita.

Emilio Blanco who's job it was to build the park says that there are future plans for the rear portion that borders the San Francisquito river, to be made into a grass park.

There are rumors that the vacant parcel could not be built on due to a fault line running through it. Emilio Blanco said that he was not aware of any fault lines, however there is a large water line that belongs to the Metropolitan Water District that runs through the middle preventing any buildings being built on the property.
