Is it possible to love someone we really do not know?  The answer is a resounding yes!  As believers, the depth of our love-relationship with Jesus grants us the ability [by His Spirit] to love the good, the bad and the ugly (figuratively speaking).  But how do we get to that level of loving someone we do not really know?

The answer comes when we begin to develope intimacy with God. When we learn God's character [love] by spending time with Him we begin to love others by His standards, not ours.  Take for example your relationship with your spouse. Through courtship with one another there was a time of intentionally seeking out the other person -- by telephone, spending time alone with one another, learning about the other person's background, family and so forth.  Well, it's no different with God and our relationship with Him.

He wants us to know Him intimately so that as we abide in Him, we can begin to extend the same love to others.  It's contagious! ... and quite frankly, the most beautiful way to live as His children.  Spending time in His Word, in prayer and in His Presence should be our daily routine and personal prerequisites -- make this your standard and watch what happens!

GBY!  Barbara :)

Great post and mindset. If you have achieved acceptance and love of all you can have a true peace!

Barbara, Very nice and well said.  As we walk with the Lord daily and are transformed into becoming more and more Christ like, we will not be able to help but to love others.  I find myself praying and even feeling compassion for those I see walking on the streets, the hookers around my workplace, the homeless, the children, the abused animals, the relatives of those who passed, even though I may have barely known the person.  God is teaching me to view these as my brothers and sisters, who maybe with a little love and compassion and prayer, they may find there way back home.

May God always keep us humble and meek, so that we can see others at thier own level and not thinking we are better than them, and look down on them.  Maybe God has placed us there at that time, to help that person in someway.  If we are humble and filled with love and compassion, we will be able to see the opportunity, and not just walk on by without a thought.  God bless you.

Good seeing you again!  We just keep running into each other.  I believe you are very correct in your post.  All relationships are courtships in the beginning.  Good way of putting it.  See you around!   JENNIFER

Hi Pete: Thanks for the post!  What does TFTP mean? Barbara :)

Hey Barbara, very well said. I wish I could do that more consistently, but I'm still struggling with it I'm afraid. I've made some improvements, but I guess I'll just have to keep at it one day at a time and see where God takes me. It's been a very interesting life so far and appears to be getting better. BTW, I have no idea what TFTP means either. Anyone care to fill us in?

Carol: I know for myself that when I began to spend time with God His Presence became more real. By the way, TFTP means "Thanks For The Post."  Barbara

Audrey is coming over tomorrow, how about we call you sometime in the late afternoon? It's a shame she doesn't practice in PA. If she did, our attorney issue would be solved. Oh well... I'm still looking for that PA lawyer and I bet I'll find one. Just wait and see... :-)
