When you are selling your home the first impression maybe the one thing that the buyer makes a decision based upon. 

Take a crical look at your home. As you are driving up to your home think as a buyer would. What do you see? A well maintained exterior will reflect on what the buyer expects is on the inside.

 Trim your lawn and shrubs. Have the lawn neatly mowed and raked. Cut back shrubs.  Flowers in  gardens or hanging baskets add color.

Clean up the yard. Put tools, lawn equipment and toys away. These distract from the "home" being the focus.

 Look for signs that the house might not be well-maintained - things like loose shingles, sagging gutters, cracking caulk on windows and doors, and peeling paint. The front door is a focus, make sure it is in great shape. A fresh coat of paint is inexpensive and will make a huge difference in the sale of your home. 

Little things like a new mailbox, a seasonal wreath on the door or a well maintained flag on the home all give the impression that the home is cared for.
