It seems like everybody wants to guard their own little niche. I've had agents call from southern California (usually San Diego) and ask if I would take a listing for them and then give them 50% (in some cases, 75%) of my commission. They say they want to use my company, my name and my photographer to set up their listing in MLS, and then they will take the phone calls and manage the transaction.
Excuse me? That's gonna happen over my dead body. Did you just get your real estate license?
But maybe they are thinking about themselves. Because that's the kind of proposal they must love. Free money and no work. They must not give a crap about their reputation.
On the other hand, we deal with Bay Area agents a lot in Sacramento. That's a whole 'nother game. There are agents in Sacramento who try to avoid them, but not this Sacramento Realtor.
