REMEMBER OUR HEROES

I recently closed a home with a young Army Captain who had just returned the year before from the fight against Islamic Extremism. He had received the Silver Star when the tank he was commanding was hit by a IED(Roadside Bomb). I am unsure of exactly what transpired but he must have done something quite rare and brave to receive the award. He is 30% disabled with a back injury from the wounds he received.

If that sort of Heroism was not enough, upon returning stateside he was given the job of knocking on the doors of families telling them their sons or daughters would not be coming home.

In my book he is 2 times a Hero.

Thanx to all our servicemen and women.  I have an uncle that was at the Battle of the Bulge.  My Dad was an LT in the Marines.  Cape Cod has many military families who are all working to protect our great country!

Are you any relation to Eddie Coker from Texas?

A timely reminder of the realities of our world right now.  I'll be proudly displaying my flag and explaining to my children what this holiday is all about.

The every day civilian has no clue what the military go thru.  Every military member is a HERO to me for just serving this great country of ours.

To all the military members I salute you.

Hey Chip - I was in the Marine Corps for about 8yrs & one of the hardest things to adjust to once returning to "civilian" life has been hearing from people who do not understand what our guys (and gals) are going through.  Ingnorance is plentiful! :o)

Have a great weekend!!

Hey Jeanean!

I was in NYC for the Saint Patrick's Day Parade after 9/11/01.

The Fire Department came down the Avenue by Central Park East and it was an entire block of Firemen dressed in dark blue... each carrying a LARGE American Flag and they were all blowing and billowing in the same direction....

I have never seen a more beautiful thing in my whole life.

I have traveled the world and have been to all the National Parks in the U.S., Canada and Europe... visited all the major art museums... heard most of the major symphonies and opera companies and have seen many gorgeous women....

Rudy Giuliani and the group of dignitaries that was with him stopped in front of us for a "minute of silence" and it was amazing... the whole city was silent... you could hear a pin drop...  and the flags continued to blow and billow in the same directon......

NOTHING WAS AS BEAUTIFUL.

Every face near me was stoic... yet tear-stained..... every one...

If we could all remember what this country "is" and how we got here...

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness...

Happiness is not granted under the Constitution just the Pursuit....

Pursue your dream.
