This past weekend, a friend, and father of three, was severely injured in a motorcycle accident. Bill Hennelly, who I met 4 years ago is a great man, and is currently struggling for his life at Mass. general hospital. For those of you reading this locally, Bill is the brother of local Realtor® Kathy Sessler, of Hourihan and Cormier Assoc. in Rochester NH.
The following article was published in Fosters Daily Democrat this week:
Biker who struck deer in critical condition
Article Date: Tuesday, May 20, 2008
BERWICK, Maine - A motorcyclist who collided with a deer Saturday night remains in critical condition in a Boston hospital.
William C. Hennelly, 48, of 194 Hubbard Road in Lebanon, was on his way home when he attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway at 7:38 p.m. near 109 Hubbard Road in Berwick.
After colliding with the animal, Hennelly was thrown from his 2007 Harley Davidson Road King and was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries, according to Police Capt. Jerry Locke.
Late Monday afternoon Locke said Monday he believed Hennelly to still be in critical condition as he had undergone brain surgery after the accident.
No new information on Hennelly's condition is available at this time.
The accident remains under investigation by the Berwick Police Department, and Locke said it does not appear that excessive speed or alcohol were factors in the accident.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Berwick Police Department at 207-698-1136.
UPDATE 5/26/08:
I was able to speak to Cindy, Bill's wife yesterday. I let her know that we are all thinking about her and the entire family. She told me that Bill still has not woken up, and may not. Every three hours or so, they try and wake him, but he has severe seizours at these times. Bill's son, Buddy, has yet to see his dad!
There has been a fund set up for the Hennelly family at Salmon Falls Community Credit Union.

I will be updating our hockey website to let our entire hockey family know Bill's status later this afternoon, and I will also make it to Mass. general this week to visit Bill. I will let him know that all of you here have sent your prayers.
